A breaking news event from the Miami Herald: a sailor off Sunny Isles Beach, while retrieving anchor in choppy conditions about 4 hours ago, got a hand caught in the chain severing two fingers.
The boater was reported en route to Haulover Marina, where emergency crews will meet him and transport to hospital. The boater initially contacted SeaTow who patched him through to the Coast Guard. Coast Guard and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue are assisting.
